How is fuel cost worked out?
Fuel used = distance ÷ economy (or distance × L/100 km ÷ 100), and cost = fuel used × price. 300 miles at 30 mpg uses 10 gallons; at $3.50 a gallon that is $35.
How do I convert mpg to L/100 km?
Divide 235.215 by US mpg (or 282.481 by UK mpg). 30 US mpg is about 7.8 L/100 km. The converted figures are shown under the answer.
