Questions people ask
What changed in 2026?
The 2026 Budget Law cut the rate on income between €28,000 and €50,000 from 35% to 33%. The bands are now 23% up to €28,000, 33% up to €50,000 and 43% above. The cuneo fiscale measures from 2025 continue: a tax-free bonus up to €20,000 of income and an extra credit of up to €1,000 between €20,000 and €40,000.
Why is my payslip different?
Payroll spreads credits and surcharges over the year, surcharges are usually withheld the following year, and some contracts have higher INPS rates or extra pension funds. This calculator gives the annual picture for a standard private-sector employee.
