How much should I tip?
In the US, 15–20% is usual at sit-down restaurants and 18–20% or more is common for good service. Tipping customs differ a lot by country: in Japan tips are not expected, and in much of Europe service is often included and rounding up is enough.
Should I tip on the amount before or after tax?
Etiquette guides usually suggest tipping on the pre-tax amount. Enter the tax in the bill to tip on the subtotal; leave it at 0 to tip on the full bill.
